Textures in San Diego

As the title suggests, I was at a conference in San Diego last weekend. What a great place for a conference in January! I got to walk in the sun (though it did rain a tiny bit), see friends, drink overpriced drinks, and learn lots of science. So much fun! The pics: seagull feather in the grass on the embarcadero and a Seuss-ish tree inside an old mission.

Sounds like a great trip! I've never been to San Diego--such a shame, since it's not far from me.

Oh! I love that you describe the tree as "Seuss-ish." My favorite thing about growing up in the Southwest was that it was like being inside of a Dr. Seuss book. It's such a perfect description of the landscape :)
